In a significant move to mainstream foldable technology, Google has launched the Pixel 10 Pro Fold with a full IP68 water and dust resistance rating, a feature previously reserved for traditional slab phones. This development aims to build consumer confidence in the durability of flexible screen devices.
Alongside its robust design, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is powered by the new Tensor G5 chip, which enables groundbreaking on-device AI features. The most notable is “Magic Cue,” a proactive assistant that seamlessly integrates information from apps like Gmail and Calendar. It anticipates your needs by, for example, showing flight details when you call an airline or suggesting meeting spots when you text a friend.
The entire Pixel 10 lineup, including the standard 10 and 10 Pro, benefits from this new AI-driven experience. Photography also gets a major AI boost with “Camera Coach,” which analyzes your scene to suggest better framing and lighting. The camera hardware itself is upgraded, with the Pixel 10 getting a 5x telephoto lens and the 10 Pro sporting a powerful 10x optical zoom camera.
The launch event also featured the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Buds 2a, extending the Gemini AI ecosystem. The watch acts as a personalized health and sleep coach, while the affordable earbuds offer noise cancellation and hands-free access to the AI assistant, solidifying Google’s strategy of embedding intelligent, helpful technology across its entire product range.
