PM Talks Economic Cooperation with Pakistani, Saudi, and Egyptian Leaders

On Monday, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani engaged in a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif. The discussion centered around fostering bilateral relations and exploring avenues to bolster them. Additionally, they addressed the latest regional developments and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at defusing tensions to promote regional security and stability.

During the call, Sheikh Mohammed expressed Qatar’s gratitude for Pakistan’s mediation efforts and the involvement of other parties that played a role in achieving a ceasefire between the United States and Iran. He emphasized Qatar’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s initiatives to resolve the crisis through peaceful dialogue, urging all parties to participate in these efforts to create conducive conditions for negotiations leading to a sustainable peace agreement in the region.

In a separate conversation, Sheikh Mohammed spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. The two reviewed their countries’ bilateral relations and explored ways to enhance them. Their dialogue also included discussions on regional developments, particularly the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, and the collective efforts to reduce tensions and bolster regional security and stability.

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s condemnation of a recent drone attack on Saudi Arabia and expressed full solidarity with Saudi authorities. He supported all actions taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and the well-being of its citizens and residents. He highlighted the importance of engaging with ongoing mediation efforts aimed at addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means, ultimately leading to a lasting agreement that prevents future escalations.

Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed received a phone call from Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates. Their conversation focused on strengthening bilateral relations and assessing regional developments, particularly those related to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. They discussed efforts to de-escalate tensions to enhance regional security and stability. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of all parties responding positively to mediation efforts to address the crisis’s root causes through dialogue, aiming for a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation.
