The war in Ukraine “is lost by Ukraine and the West,” Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, claimed during an event in Gurugram this week.
He argued that this “futility” is understood by Donald Trump, but not by European nations who continue their “belligerence.”
Alipov described European hopes for a Russian defeat as “childish behavior” and “unprofessional.”
He then explained why he believes this to be true: Russia’s nuclear arsenal. “You can’t… take over us in this conflict,” he stated.
He grounded this in official policy, noting, “We have in our doctrine that if there is an existential threat to us, there is a possibility of its use,” a clear warning to Western backers of Kyiv.
