In a recent meeting at the Qatar Chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, engaged in discussions with Nguyen Huy Hiep, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar. The focus of their conversation was to bolster the economic and trade relations between Qatar and Vietnam, with both parties showing a keen interest in fostering closer ties.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on enhancing collaboration between private sector companies from both nations. The discussions centered around exploring new avenues for investment and pinpointing key industries that could benefit from future cooperation. Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to support and nurture partnerships and joint ventures between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses. He commended Vietnam on its impressive economic growth, highlighting the potential for mutually beneficial projects.
Ambassador Hiep conveyed Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic cooperation with Qatar. He noted that the bilateral trade between the two countries had surpassed $860 million in 2024, reflecting a $100 million increase from the previous year. The ambassador encouraged Qatari investors to explore investment opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, food processing, and halal products. He also underscored the importance of the Qatar Chamber’s role in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal products within the Qatari market.
Further extending the invitation, Ambassador Hiep urged Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September. This annual expo is recognized as a significant global trade event, concentrating on sourcing, exports, and supply chain collaborations. The event attracts international companies and industry leaders across various sectors, including food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics, offering a platform for extensive networking and business opportunities.
